Snow Lake Lodge is located in Southern California’s first mountain recreation area, Big Bear Lake. The four season resort community is nestled in the San Bernardino National Forest amongst the pine and oak trees. The resort is near Big Bear Lake, the downtown Village with shops and restaurants, and Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Ski Resorts. “Big Bear averages 320 days of clear skies annually with mild temps throughout the year. Altitude ranges from 6,750 to 9,000 feet. There are over 300 days of sunshine each year. Summer temperatures average around 80 degrees during the day, and 45 degrees at night. Winter brings about 100 inches of snowfall, and temperatures which average in the low 40’s during the day, and mid 20’s at night.” (Bigbear.com) Big Bear is considered the year-round mountain and lake escape for nearby residents in Los Angeles and Orange County, which are about a two hour drive away. It is also Southern California’s largest recreation lake; approximately seven miles long and one mile (at widest point). Guests at Snow Lake Lodge enjoy crisp mountain air, a small town community, and endless year-round activities like fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, kayaking, ice skating, hockey, skiing, and snowboarding. Big Bear Lake is also home to the Big Bear International Film Festival, Oktoberfest with the highest (elevation) Biergarten in the U.S., boxing training facility for Oscar de la Hoya and others, and some Hollywood movies like Parent Trap, Old Yeller, Dr. Doolittle II, Gone with the Wind, and Frankenstein. Snow Lake Lodge is a cozy, inviting resort with spacious accommodations, fully equipped kitchens, and two fireplaces per suite.
